Trauma Therapy Intensives for Men

You’ve waited long enough for this to get better on its own.

A trauma therapy intensive sets aside the time, structure, and clinical expertise needed to address trauma directly.

An intensive may be a good fit for you if:

  • You’ve been dealing with trauma symptoms for a long time, and they’re not resolving on their own.

  • You’ve tried therapy before, maybe even weekly, but it stayed surface-level or didn’t move things forward.

  • You know this requires specialized trauma treatment, not coping skills or generic advice.

  • You’re ready to focus on this work deliberately, rather than continuing to manage symptoms indefinitely.

The agenda for your intensive is tailored to your symptoms, goals, and history. For example, we may:

  • to clarify what’s actually driving your symptoms, not just what they look like on the surface. This helps us target treatment instead of guessing or chasing coping strategies.

  • such as avoidance, hypervigilance, emotional shutdown, or guilt, and map out exactly how they show up in your day-to-day life.

  • using evidence-based approaches shown to reduce trauma symptoms, with sessions structured to help you face what you’ve been avoiding in a controlled, supported way.

  • so your nervous system can relearn that they are no longer dangerous.

  • whether that’s continued therapy, targeted practice on your own, or coordination with another provider to maintain momentum.

How the Intensive Process Works

  • Format:

    • Trauma therapy intensives are offered in a focused, two-day format, totaling approximately 10–12 hours of work.

  • Assessment → Treatment

    • The intensive begins with a comprehensive assessment to clarify how trauma is affecting you now and what is most likely to help. From there, we move into active trauma treatment using evidence-based approaches, with the specific focus guided by your symptoms, goals, and patterns of avoidance.

  • Why This Works:

    • Because the work is concentrated, we’re able to spend sustained time on areas that are difficult to address in a weekly format. This allows for deeper focus, more continuity between sessions, and less time spent reorienting or starting over.

    • Throughout the intensive, we balance structured trauma work with careful pacing. You’ll have a clearer understanding of what has been keeping symptoms in place, along with practical ways to apply the work outside of sessions.

  • After the Intensive:

    • If ongoing therapy is recommended, we’ll discuss options that make sense for you. If you plan to continue with another therapist, I can help coordinate care so the transition is intentional and you don’t lose momentum.
